Life in Great Lakes is very hectic and can be tiring if you don’t unwind periodically. After placements we thought life would be simple & sweet in here but professors were ruthless as usual. Fortunately we had a break for a day that was Monday the 26th Feb 07.   For a long time I wanted to do a road trip and the anxiety & thrill increased after a jaunt to Mahabalipuram, so we (Bala, Sai, Natchi & I) decided to hit the roads and this time we wanted it to be even more thrilling. We had option of going to Tada (Andra border) or Pondicherry. Pondy was the ideal destination for any bachelor and so we started our journey.

I was an early bird & after joining Great Lakes - SORRY my eye lids are closed till 8 am (this is inspite of early morning wake-up calls from my mom, brother J). I was not alone in this aspect, my beloved buddy ‘Balv’, Natchi were there. We had to rely on our Sainath to wake us up as we had planned to hit the roads by 5.30 am. TRING TRING TRING!!!! We got ready and met in the college campus.

We took our bikes as it was convenient. Bikes were Hero Honda Passion & Bajaj Pulsar. Question : When there is less traffic & the road is good. What would any biker do? Yes, ZIP ZAP ZOOOOOOM!!!!

Mercury was rising and we had to take shelter which came in the form of a restaurant. Had a great food in Saravana Bhavan & zoom we went on. After lunch we wanted to take a siesta but the urge to see more of Pondy kept us going.

dsc01125.jpg We went to Paradise beach (which had a back water too) after a boat ride. We averaged at 80 kmph and reached Pondy at 7.45 am after three breaks. Bikes kept changing hands and both bikes were good in their own terms. We visited AUROVILLE, AUROBINDO ASHRAM, BEACH, BAZAAR.

dsc01115.jpgWe left Pondy by 4 pm and reached Chennai by 7. My God it was an awesome trip with nice friends. I thought I could rest for a day but imagine what, next day there was a party!!! Here we go again J
